When we consider the questions sought both by science and religion we find they are one and the same: Who are we? Why are we here? How did we come to be? What is our purpose? We ask these questions because we seek meaning in our lives and hope for something greater, nobler, and more profound than the day-to-day tedium of our existence. Both science and religion approach these questions from different perspectives -- science from the analytical perspective of observation, calculation, and comprehensive analysis, and religion from the creative perspective of inspiration, invention, and mystical revelation. It is no wonder that both arrive at different conclusions.
The objective facts regarding the ultimate nature of the universe can only be derived from the scientific approach, while the ultimate meaning of our relationship with the universe and with each other can only be derived from a more spiritual or philosophical approach. Both approaches are necessary to answer the questions of who, why, how, and what we are, yet to be true neither can contradict or invalidate the other. The dominate theistic religions that have prevailed for the past 2000 years stand in diametric contraction to science, and so Apollonianism asserts that a new spiritual perspective is required to bring meaning and inspiration to our existance as our species advances beyond the cradle of our birth.
Simply put, if you want to believe in something, believe in the universe; if you want to trust in something, trust in science; if you want to worship something, worship life.
